The New Year is the magical time of the year when we all feel inspired, motivated and creative. Therefore, it’s a great time to reflect on the changes that we want to or need to make in ourselves to be the better version of what we presently are. So, we all make New Year’s resolutions that is, we all promise ourselves that during the coming year we would change our life for the better. Generally, we all make New Year’s resolutions either on 1st January or during the first week of January and then we decide how to fulfill the goals that we have set for the year but I personally think that we should make the New Year’s Resolution a few days before the new year even starts because then we can start to work on achieving our goals from the first day of the New Year. So, here I am with some of the resolution ideas that we can make for the year of 2018.
.Break your bad habits. Make a list of your bad habits that you would like to change. Don’t start to change all the bad habits at the same time because then you will find it very difficult and confusing. So, start to change one bad habit at a time. Tell your friends or the people around you about this so that they can remind you when, you do that undesirable behaviour thereby preventing you from doing that and then gradually you will notice that you have got rid of that habit. I have noticed the change in me by doing this, I had a very bad habit of judging others and I knew that if I didn’t get rid of this habit then I would fall into some trouble. So, last year on new year’s eve I told some of my friends about this and from then on whenever I judged someone they always checked and today I am proud to say that now I have almost stopped judging others.
.Read few pages of a book every day. Reading a few pages of a book daily helps you to reduce your stress. No matter how much stress you have at work, in your personal relationships, or countless other issues faced in daily life, it all just slips away when you lose yourself in a great story. A well-written novel can take you to other realms, while an engaging article will distract you and keep you in the present moment, letting tensions drain away and allowing you to relax. Reading helps you to gain knowledge, everything you read fills your head with new bits of information, and you never know when it might come in handy. The more knowledge you have, the better-equipped you are to tackle any challenge you’ll ever face. Reading daily also helps you to improve your vocabulary, memory as well as your ability to focus on your work.
.Take time for yourself. It’s really important that you take some time out from your daily schedule for yourself and in that time pamper yourself, so that you can completely relax yourself.
.Start a bullet journal. Bullet journal really helps you to organize your life.
.Don’t be afraid to try something new. We are all afraid to try something new because of what people would say after you do something new and different from what you usually do. Trying new things leads to increased confidence and self-esteem. It reduces boredom and loneliness, and it’s a major driver in personal growth. I am not just only saying this to you guys but even I am trying something new this year, I am starting this blog.
.Celebrate your success. The success is not only limited to major achievements, like reaching your milestone but it also includes the smaller ones; for example- you want to lose 40 pounds but you have reduced just 20 pounds, so instead of being sad that you have just reduced 20 pounds, be happy and celebrate the fact that you have reduced 20 pounds. This celebration of a smaller success will motivate you fulfill your long term goal.
.De-clutter. De-clutter all the unnecessary things in your life, this help you to organize your life. For all those who trying to be a minimalist should also try to cluttered, as it is a step towards minimalism.
.Do it now. Break your habit of procrastination, do it now. One of the best pieces of advice that can ever be given to someone who wants to succeed either in business or in personal relationships can be placed in three simple words – do it now! Yes, it’s that simple, but to those who act this way every single day of their lives, this principle brings fascinating results.
