Lessons That I Have Learnt In 2017.

So 2017 ended
With a blaze
Of sun’s gold
And amber fire
Lit in the western sky
To guide
December home
Throughout a dark night
Towards the dawn’s light,
A fresh day,
A new year.

So when the clock stroke
With a chime
Of twelve strokes
And then the year
Has passed away for good
And said
Goodbye, farewell
Throughout a dark night
Towards the dawn’s light,
A fresh day,
A new year.

So, wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am one of those people who believe in New Year, New Beginnings, but at the same time, I keep in mind not to repeat the mistakes that I have already committed before. I try to learn from the past and make a better future.

So, here are some of the lessons that I learnt in 2017.

Don’t Focus Too Much on Perfection.

Well, I am one of those people who likes everything to be perfect. Whenever I wrote anything, I always read and re-read. Then I discover how imperfect it is and how far it is from perfection. So, I got disheartened and stop writing I stop working on myself. I stop trying altogether.
On seeing this my mom told me “Instead of trying to be perfect or too-perfect, focus on progress. Remember, perfection does not exist. We should aim for making steady progress in all areas of your life.”

Then I stopped obsessing over perfection and started acting more. And I realised that I can only get better when I act.

Appreciate Everything.

It is so simple, yet so important. I am very grateful for my life, my family, and my friends. I know how easy it is to get swept up in the moment and forget about the bigger picture, but last year I have achieved so much and I am very thankful for that.

Speak up for yourself

This is one of the most important lessons that I have learnt in 2017, but now I feel as if I have it mastered. It’s not that I would never defend myself when necessary – I would. But these days I have learnt my strength and prosperity as a human being; enough to feel confident to speak up when I feel like I’ve been wronged, even if it was unintentional.

2017 was amazing. I am very excited to see what 2018 brings for me.
